Tasks not appearing on ToDo list
Hi there, I'm a new Copper subscriber and am getting ready to roll the program out to my team. I'm running into two problems:
The tasks I'm assigning to people (including myself) are not appearing in the ToDo list. Is there something else I have to do besides assign?
Also, is there a way to look at an overall calendar for all of the projects? I have been looking at them by client but would like to be able to see everyone. Thanks!

Hello Katherine,
In order for a task to show up on the 'To Do' list, the user must be allocated to a task by being assigned as a resource. Have you added yourself or other people as resources to a task? The 'To Do' list won't display a task for someone who is only added to a project, or who is the owner.
In addition to the Client -> Timeline view here for all projects below that client, another view that might be help would be to click on the Calendar icon on the menu bar. Click 'Show dash' at the right side and select 'All Clients' and 'All Projects'.
Hope that helps!

Inappropriate?I have a follow-up question: How do users view tasks they own if they don't show up on their To Do lists? Does every Task Owner also need to be included as a resource?
My users are not able to access the dashboard feature for some reason. Is that only accessible to the Admin Users? -
Inappropriate?Hi Katherine,
Users who 'own' a task can select the Show "Owed to me" pulldown and see those tasks that they own but that others are allocated to. The Dashboard feature is only available for Admin users (whereby they can select another user to see their to dos).
We'll actually be looking at simplifying the way resourcing is handled in future updates, I know that there has often been confusion about Task/Project Owners, and Task/Project resources, so we may even look at removing the Task/Project Owner fields and instead somehow allow you to mark a resource as the 'Principal' resource. -
On that, it seems redundant to create the task with an owner and to then have to allocate that same person as a resource in the gant chart.
Additionally being able to disable the gant chart altogether would stop most of the browser crashes I experiencing. -
Agreed!! I'd like to simplify the users/contacts/task owner/project owner/resources area!!!! I think it would make sense to drop project/task owner, and just have resources on tasks/projects, perhaps the top most one is the 'owner'. -
Inappropriate?Sorry if I'm being obtuse, but I can't find a "Show 'Owed to me' pulldown" anywhere on her screen. Where is that?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Katherine,
While in To Do, click on the 'Show Dash' button on the right hand side. You'll be able to change the pull down for 'Show These Tasks' to Owed.
Let us know if that does the trick!
